Laboratory Facilities
The university has various laboratory facilities. Attached to different departments, the laboratories are used for practical classes and other purposes. The laboratories are Engineering Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Pharmacy Laboratory and Language Laboratory. The first three laboratories are attached to the departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Pharmacy, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering respectively. The fourth one is an independent laboratory, which is dedicated to English language proficiency training. It is accessible to the students of English as well as all other disciplines.
Engineering Laboratory
Attached to the department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, this laboratory is located at Building No. 2 at the Asad Avenue. It is equipped with modern instruments necessary for practical lessons in Engineering. Various kinds of subject-related experiments are done in the laboratory. The instruments in the laboratory include Dual Channel Fet Analyzer, Dynamic Signal Analyser, Digital Plotting Adapter, HP Scanjet and Registors. There are 26 computers and other electronic equipments in the laboratory. Ms. Masuma Akhter is discharging the responsibility as In-charge of the laboratory.

Pharmacy Laboratory
The pharmacy lab is located on the 1st floor of the university’s main building at Iqbal Road, Mohammadpur. It is comprised of four separate laboratories: (1) Microbiology, (2) Pharmaceutical Analysis & Medicinal Chemistry, (3) Pharmacology & Physiology, and (4) Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmaceutics. The laboratories are equipped with modern pharmacological instruments. Various kinds of subject-related experiments are done in the four laboratories. Equipment of Microbiology lab includes Laminar Air Flow, Incubator, Microscope, Micropipette, Refrigerator, Electrical Oven, Auto Clave and Distilled Water Plant. Equipment of Pharmaceutical Analysis & Medicinal Chemistry includes Spectrophotometer, Soxhlet Apparatus, pH meter, Hot Plate, TLC apparatus, Electrical balance two digit, Electrical balance normal, and relevant chemicals & containers. Pharmacology & Physiology lab has Centrifuge machine, UV-visible spectrophotometer, Overhead Projector (OHP), Stethoscope, Blood Pressure m/c, Hemoglobin meter, Human Skeleton, Psychology & Anatomy charts models, and Electric Shaker. Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmaceutics lab has Dissolution Tester, Disintegration Tester, Tablet Friabilator, Coating Machine, Tablet Compression Machine, Capsule Filling, Tablet Hardness Tester, and Four digit electrical balance. Mr. S. A. M. Al Sayeam is the lab instructor.

Computer Laboratory
The computer laboratory is attached to the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). It was established soon after the subject had been introduced in 2002. Located on the 3rd floor at the Iqbal Road main building, the laboratory is divided into four separate laboratories: main computer lab, digital lab, internet lab and research lab. Main computer lab is used for classes of the CSE department. Classes of basic computer courses meant for other departments are held in the digital lab. Internet lab is used for internet browsing by teachers and students. The research lab is where mainly teachers work and help students with projects if necessary. There are 46 computers in total–20 in the main computer lab, 10 in the digital lab, 8 in the internet lab and 8 in the research lab. The computers are of Pentium-4 and Pentium-3 capacity. Mr. Yeasir Fattah is currently in change of the computer laboratory.

Language Laboratory
The university has a modern language laboratory equipped with various electronic gadgets. The laboratory was established in March 2007 with the primary objective of helping the teachers and students in improving their pronunciation of English. It started its operation with providing training to the teachers of Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College. Two groups of teachers comprising twelve members each have already completed course on pronunciation. Programs are underway to impart further trainings to teachers and students. There are also plans to introduce courses for some important foreign languages such as Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. Housed in a cozy room, the laboratory has been equipped with computers, DVD player, cassette players and headphones. The 28 headphones placed at 28 workstations, all connected with a simple electronic network, offer an opportunity of group listening practice. The university authorities have plans to develop it further with installing more equipment so that greater number of students can take the benefit of it in future. Dr. Binoy Barman is now discharging the responsibility as its In-Charge. Mr. Randy Petersheim, an American teacher, is helping the lab activities with counselling and actively participating in teacher training.
